She'll never be the biggest of anything, sorry.

Even if that's true, what does that matter in anyway? She's already a legend.

My fave doesn't need gender-specific songs, her music already speaks to all ages, races, nationalities, genders, and sexual orientations. A true global queen

No, she is absolutely not. In music alone, P!nk is far more overtly feminist.
But the thread title doesn't specify that this is musician specific, so that title would go to someone for whom feminism is directly related to their actual job.
I am truly saddened that so many people in here need a lesson in feminism.
Young people today, I swear.

Not with "Stupid Girls" under her belt, bye. Don't act like you're superior in your knowledge of feminism, and then give an example that is 10 x worse than Beyoncé.
Anyway, in terms of celebrities I do think that Bey is the biggest feminist icon. That doesn't translate to her being the best of course, but she's one of the very few female celebrities who willingly associates herself with the feminist label, and is arguably the most well known. Her actions definitely back up the fact that she is one, she's in charge of her career and her life and she's always been open about supporting and empowering other women (hiring an all female band is a perfect example of that).
Every argument I've heard against the notion that Beyoncé isn't deserving of being called a feminist has always been a bad one. Yes she flaunts her body, so what? She carries her husband's last name, so what? I thought feminism was about encouraging women to be empowered in their sexuality and making choices that are best for them. Saying there's only one right way to be a feminist is anti-feminist in of itself.

Get 'em.
Personally, I'm not sure who I'd consider the biggest feminist "icon." I wouldn't say it's Beyoncé, as her persona is almost as airbrushed and contrived as Britney was at the outset of her career to seem as mannequin-like and stereotypically effeminate, but at the same time I can't really think of anyone who is as blatant in their regular themes of female empowerment and the like.
I would be tempted to say Ke$ha because in interviews and even in her music she champions feminist ideals and regularly subverts gender roles and norms, but then she has "Grow a Pear," which is almost as offensive as "Stupid Girls," so...

Biggest feminists in the industry right now:
1. Gaga
2. Bey
3. Ke$ha
4. Jessie J

I don't think you under stood Stupid Girls.
I don't really think any of these pop stars should be considered feminist icons though. At one point or another(even though I don't think they are ****s or anything of the sort) they have all used their bodies to sell
They can be feminists and promote girl power but definitely not icons

She's not really a feminist, sorry. She uses sex to sell. But she seems to empower many girls, so good for her.

I'm a girl and honestly I don't look her up as feminist icon. I just feel that she doesn't represent feminism for me, that's all. Having discography full with female empowerment songs doesn't make an artist become feminist icon for me.
I'm not american, so whatever Beyonce did to support feminism definitely didn't reach me or give any effect to me, basically I've never heard anything about it. I can say people in my country just hear her empowerment songs, I don't know about people in another country. Personally for me that's not more than bunch of words without any real action.
Feminist icons that I look up jump to battlefield to fight for our right and the rights they fight for mean something to me and give effect for my life.
Well, that's just my opinion as a woman
