Her birth name is her dad's last name so her using her Carter is no different than her using her birth name. If you're going to use that as to why she's not a feminist then use Tina, another woman, her last name.

I don't understand how anyone could call that being contradictory. They obviously are just being critical because they want to be. You can be a proud wife and mother, yet still be a hard working independent woman. Jay isn't with her making decisions with and for her. She stands on her own, and with him. She understands and respects what it means to be a wife.
