How come a thread on if Black Artists can be noticed Mainstream again is closed?
Really, I need a proper reason
Well it could be discussed if it had any basis, but since Pharrell has slayed this year with two huge songs and there are plenty of other successful black artists in pop, it's a really pointless thread.

YOU REALLY THINK BLURRED LINES AND GET LUCKY SMASHED BECAUSE PHARRELL?
And so if 1 black artist smashes "it's dumb to complain, obviously nothing is wrong"?

Why don't we leave threads with any racial connotation out of ATRL? They always turn into a mess and I highly doubt it people are flopping just because they're black.

I never said they flopped because they were black tho.
I said can black artists in general reach success of other races currently, since there is a clear downfall whether you choose to notice or not.

We will never grow if people continue to lie and deny.

Yes. Pharrell has gotten so much hype this past year.
+ will.i.am, Jay-Z, A$AP Rocky, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne have all had BB Top 10 (some #1) hits this year. There is no bias for white artists in the market right now and that thread would have only started unnecessary trouble.

Yep race is a touchy topic, so any thread about it needs to be worthwhile and not arbitrary like Hot 100 #1s. Only five different main artists got there this year.

Get Lucky did not become a hit because Pharrell. Blurred Lines smashed because of a performance on The Voice. If people were legitimately here and stanning for Pharrell then ATM Jams would be doing something along with other songs he has done, even tho y'all continually choose to notice only the 2 smashes.
And the only people starting stuff in that thread were the ones saying black people on ATRL were doing the most. The actual blacks were answering the question.

But blacks aren't the only race; yet the only race we can continually not talk about unless we're arguing to be able to call them Apes.
And most of those 5 Main Artists hit #1 doing URBAN songs. But the black artists doing urban songs are positioned where on the Hot 100? That was discussion worthy.

Now let's stop continuing that thread's "discussion" in here. There really is nothing to discuss.

How can you see the same name on two of the biggest hits of the year and then claim he had nothing to do with either? He was the voice on both songs and the face in both videos- you can't tell me that his impact was null or that people overlooked him because of his skin colour. Also, ATM Jams is doing better than Doin' It Right.
The thread barely got to lift off. You and me both know it would have gotten a lot messier.
If I were you I would just take it to the HNIC thread and vent your (uncalled for) anger there.

According to the front page the HQ is to discuss things happening on ATRL, request threads to open, and to comment/criticize/etc members and moderators yet I am being prevented from speaking my mind again.
