I still think there should be like a $1-5 fee (for non-subscribers) to change your name and you can change it whenever you want.

No, I'm not paying any of my money which I work for to use on a ****ing pop music forum.

It will be disabled for posts. We're probably going to use a similar feature for best answer/most helpful in general Q&A threads, but no Like buttons in sight.

The original implementation has cutoff issues with long names, so that's gone for good. I'll try out one other placement option we have on the weekend but in the end, we can't please everyone.

The plugins we've tried don't work very well on this version of vBulletin, so it's not going to happen until we upgrade. We're taking our time on a full upgrade now that the server is mostly stable.

You don't NEED a name change.... it is an extra. I am fine with people paying for extras.

As long as there is no "vote down" option I am good. It can get to political/petty when people are voting down people who they simply don't like.

It's not an extra. Every forum gives users the common decency to at least change their username with a limit if they're unsatisfied with it.

I agree with ONE free name change for every member since oftentimes when you sign up you choose a lame name when on the spot during registration.
