Yesterday (26/08), P!nk performed the 18th and final show in Melbourne, Australia, breaking her own record of shows made in an arena in a single tour, who had won in 2009 with the Funhouse Tour (17 concerts).
P!nk sold approximately 250 thousand tickets in Melbourne in that tour. No other artist played to more people in the city in a single tour. Those closest to achieving this were AC/DC in 2011 (approx. 180 thousand tickets in 3 dates at Etihad Stadium) and Madonna in 1993 (approx. 145 thousand tickets in 3 dates at the MCG). Adding up all the tours in Rod Laver Arena, P!nk sold more than 500 thousand tickets, another record of the arena.
"The 18th show in Melbourne was definitely a highlight. But every night is a standout. You look at the crowd and see true love. It's no joke. There are people from 2 to 72 years. It's amazing, "said P!nk.
A plaque showing the record was placed under the hood, where P!nk signed leaving a note for the other artists who will pass the arena: "Overcome this, bitches!"
