When have The Beatles, at any point, been perceived as a joke?
I know that they have been ridiculed as a 'boy band' and some of their music considered as trash. I could imagine that the Beatlemania was really annoying, like 1D and their obsessive stans but 10x worse.
Madonna's music and ideas were small minded in the long run. You can tell that everything that she did was to get people's attention but the problem with that is you're messing with your legacy in the long run whilst getting your 15 mins of fame. This generation will not use Madonna but MJ will forever be relevant. Seriously there is nothing Madonna has done that I can say is influential and so impactful that it has been cemented into pop. I guess thats why you need talent.
And people have done the same to Mariah, MJ, and Janet as well your peers, who are more bound to say something about you than anyone else, dissing you doesn't mean a thing. And especially Michael, nothing Madonna has done/ever will do will be more embarrassing/detrimental to her career than being a pedophile.
Every celebrity has been made fun of/perceived as a joke - none can escape it, regardless of how nice they are or how much talent you think they contain. Nonetheless, Madonna being a 'joke' still surpass Mariah and Janet by miles, so who cares?
Isn't it weird how Michael Jackson raped children and abandoned his own race yet people still hate Madonna more lol

Madonna would have been dragged had there been social media back then. ****, most of the pop stars wouldn't have gotten away with a lot of stuff back then. But then again, I think they would still have the "I don't give a cluck" attitude, especially Whitney and Mariah.
Would be amazing to see what ATRL would look like back then. Medoner slaying everyone and then flopping with Erotica, Moo coming out of the gate punching everyone whilst being labeled a Whitney clone, Whitney obliterating everything everyone during "The Bodyguard" era - it would have been so epic.
There are videos of Mariah, MJ, Janet saying how big of a joke she is. Not only that but if you watch any of HER interviews back in the day you'll see how much of a joke she was and how insecure she was when she was flopping. She was the only popstar who couldn't sing or dance.
I doubt it. She is just a bitch that's all. Michael was the one insecure btw. I don't see how taking him to a gay club and telling him to stop dressing like a circus freak is her wanting to "be a man" in his terms.

'Erotica' is her second-best album, and around the time she got SLAMMED for filth (Unless we bring up her pink wig for the Virgin tour...) along with that ridiculous, Bettie Page-inspired 'SEX' book.
'Bedtime Stories' was a petty attempt at an apology despite her still lashing out with "Human Nature", and it's far from one of her best albums. I do adore almost ever song on it, though.
