Tegan and Sara @ The Tonight Show
Tegan and Sara were on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight with a special performance. The appearance had been pre-recorded on the weekend, since the band is starting off their UK tour this evening.

Surprising everyone, the duo announced before the show that they would not be promoting their new single, Heart Waster, but instead playing a song off of their album Shipwrecked, Straight Backward. The song deals with coming to terms with your own sexuality, which goes hand in hand with the plan of the band to use this performance to advocate the rights of the LGBT community.

“We have been vivid supporters of the Human Rights Campaign for a long time and just became part of the No H8 Campaign, so we thought we should use this opportunity to raise awareness for these causes and get the word out there”, says Sara. “We and our band decided to dress in red, which is the color of the equality logo, to connect this whole performance with the fight for equality. Even the stage is gonna be lit up in red!”
When Jay Leno announced the band, he could barely be heard over the deafening cheering from the audience, who was more than excited for the upcoming performance. He still managed to finish his introduction, mentioning Tegan and Sara's tireless fight for equality and the rights of the LGBT community through various charities ever since the start of their career.

Taking the stage in matching red jackets, the girls impressed with a heartfelt performance of a song that made sure to bring awareness of the struggles of gay teens, but without being cheesy or pointing fingers. It was a respectful reminder that nobody can help who they are, and that in the end, nothing is wrong with being yourself and accepting your sexuality, whatever it may be.
The band received standing ovations after the song was done, both looking slightly moved by their own song and the thrilled reaction of the audience. Jay Leno praised them for their dedication to the cause and thanked them for stopping by, but not without mentioning that their current single, Heart Waster, is now out on iTunes.
Right after the show, Tegan and Sara announced via Twitter and their website that they would be auctioning off their jackets from the Jay Leno performance, with all proceeds being donated to the Human Rights Foundation to help support the fight for equality.
They also revealed that they would be releasing a mini documentary about the struggles of gay teens, featuring their mom, a therapist, who is often asked for advice by young people when it comes to sexuality issues.

CHARITY ALBUM PROJECT
Hey everyone! Since many of you are starting their personal charity projects this week, I think it's time we start putting this album together. I'm just gonna explain a few things about the project first...
THE ALBUMS
• There will be TWO VOLUMES/TWO ALBUMS of this project
• One volume/album will feature ALL BRAND NEW music, the second volume/album will have OLD SINGES/REMIXES
• Each volume/album will be TWENTY-FIVE songs long
PROMOTING
NEW MUSIC Volume/Album:
When promoting the NEW MUSIC volume/album, all of the promo should also go towards your personal projects. This is a great way to boost your charity work, and help the new music itself get more promo so the album could top the Album Chart.
OLD MUSIC Volume/Album:
Sales/promo for this album should also go towards yourself. But instead of this being categorized as ONLY charity work, it should also count towards the single(s) itself/themselves. So this will also boost your artist's single + albums sales.
Overall, I think it's a win-win situation! If you have any questions about this, just ask me and I should be able to answer them.
COLLABORATIONS
Collaborations on the album are extremely encouraged because it'll just make everyone a well-rounded album! However, there are some things I would like to enforce just to keep this project organized:
• NO collaborations from artists not in the game (includes remixes)
• NO more than five artists on one track (a group counts as one artist)
LEAD SINGLE
There will be only one MAIN single from this album, while others may just count as promotional singles. We will decide which track will become the lead/only single by a ranking system which will take place once the album is put together.
SENDING TRACKS
Please send me all of your tracks/work via PM, it's the place where I'll see it quicker compared to other options. And like many albums, some tracks may not make the cut. Feel free to record more than one song, but no hard feelings if some are cut (maybe I'll figure out a system for that as well.)
I think that should be enough info for now! Please ask me anything you need to know and hopefully we can get this moving! I'd like to see some songs during the week, but I will need a song by Saturday in order to release this next week! Thanks + hopefully this goes down in Create A label history!

Yup!
You can send around 1-3 songs if you'd like... but there's like a 95% garuntee at least one will make it!

Carlos releases "Patience" Music video.
Carlos just released the video for his newest single, "Patience" only three days after it's release. Here is it below:
Quote:
The video begins with Carlos sitting In the coffee shop with a very pretty girl who is on her phone. He seems uncomfortable. The song begins and they talk and laugh but the girl keeps making eyes at the waiter. In the next scene Carlos is seen standing on a hill in blue jeans and a black leather jacket. He sings the lyrics there by himself and belts to the sky.
Then in the second verse of the song he and the girl go to the beach and try to go surfboarding but she's constantly flirting with other guys. Carlos get's fed up and leaves, but she barely notices. Next she texts him saying she's sad he left and missed him. When he texts back and says that she needs to stop flirting with other guys she says maybe she needs a break.
Then the guitar solo comes, and Carlos is seen to be really depressed lying on the couch. He has a shaggy bears and is eating chees puffs and is just wearing boxers and covered in a blanket. Then he sees an apology text by her and gets up and puts on his clothes. He invites her over and when she comes there are candles set up and they have a romantic evening.
At the end of the video she is seen laughing and smiling with another guy on the park on the bench on his lap. Carlos is right behind them with his car. He rolls his eyes and leaves, throwing the flowers he had gotten for her at them and leaving.
|
Carlos's first video is great. Not over the top but not ridiculous either, it's great for a first video.
