French Meryl Streep is quite spot on. I have yet to see a movie that I didn't like in which she starred in.
Marion was the lead in both though. There's only so much a director can do when the actress is not bringing it. The chemistry was definitely there and Marion was convincing and believable in both roles. She brought them to life, showed their vulnerability, without being over-dramatic.
