Charm School simply couldn't run without the hard work, dedication, and inspiration provided by our Faculty. I'd like to introduce, and thank each one.
Ammer, my fellow Headmaster and co-creator of this game. You're the best and everyone should strive to be more like you. You work hard, you're so smart, and your posts are consistently well written and of the upmost quality. I'm so glad we do this game together, and thank you for everything you have to teach.
pika, the original Charm School winner! You are such a great role model for all of our semester 2 students, and it's been a pleasure watching you continue to grow and improve, even after your win. You're a bonafide, well-known (and well respected!) member of the site - and to know that Charm School possibly even played a small role in that makes me really really proud. Thanks for being a part of semester 2.
Katie - having you on Faculty is just perfect. In so many ways, you are exactly what Charm School is all about. As a more mature member of this site, you find a way to be sane, logical, and wise, but never boring! You're a ton of fun, and provided some valuable insight to our students. I know you are very busy in real life, and hope you know how much I appreciate you taking time to be part of the Charm School Faculty.
and of course, I need to mention our amazing guest Professors. You all were selected by me because you are ATRL users I admire and respect. I care so much about this game, and wouldn't want anybody attached to it who didn't represent the values that it's all about.
Edge, Kitt, Matty, and Anna - thanks for all you did, not only in judging challenges, but also just being awesome role models for our students.
Speaking of students...let's meet the top 3 and reveal who finished in third place!

It's true what they say about Charm School - the true prize is your own transformation, and in that regard you are ALL already winners. You've become better versions of yourselves, and whether you place third, second, or first, nobody can take that away from you.
That being said, it is still a competition, and only one student can place first.
The full time Faculty and all guest Professors were asked to choose a winner based off the final Graduation speeches as well as your performance in previous assignments.
The first student I call to the stage right now is the THIRD PLACE finisher. Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for..............
Su-Barbie-A!!!
Barbie, congrats on making the final 3. You emerged right off the bat in this semester as a strong contender, and your high rankings in many assignments show that you've got everything it takes. I think your final speech showed a great deal of humility and self-awareness, and for that I applaud you. You're witty, humorous, and memorable. Sure, you're a little rough around the edges, but I also like that you don't sacrifice who you are. I am so very proud of you, and hope you are too. You've learned so much in our time together, and it's been a joy watching you grow from someone I already considered to be awesome, to someone even more awesome!
Jad, Nicki...one of you is second, and one of you is first. Are you ready to find out?

At this point in the ceremony, it's time to announce the winner - who will graduate top of the class from ATRL Charm School: Semester 2???
Jad, Nicki - please both come up on stage! You both deserve a huge round of applause. Both of your respective journeys in this game have been nothing short of phenomenal. You both went from unsure, meek and sometimes messy posters to confident, thoughtful, and inspiring members of our community. I want you both to know, real talk, that you both make me very very proud. Either one of you would be a fitting winner, as you both represent the Charm School values so well. I thank you both for taking this so seriously, I think in both cases it's paid off.
This decision was SO tough. In fact, only...ONE POINT separated you two in the final standings. But who finished in first? The winner of semester 2 of ATRL Charm School is....
JAD!!!
Jad - you did it! Looking back on your early entries, it's undeniable how far you've come. You put so much more thought and effort into your posts, and it's directly resulted in your ATRL reputation getting better. I love how you still maintain your "Show the Love" thread, and I admire your positive and caring outlook for those around you. I am beyond thrilled to announce your win. We would love to have you back next semester as a Faculty member...and oh yeah, that special prize we haven't announced yet? Should you want it, you have a GUARANTEED spot on the next Cycle of ATRL's Next Top Member!!! (Thanks Matty!). Congrats on your win, but more importantly, congrats on the hard work you put into it!
Nicki! I would have been just as thrilled to name you the winner, but second place is where you finish. You consistently impressed all Faculty members with your insight, maturity, and ability to create meaningful posts. You have changed SO MUCH on this journey, and while you didn't get "first place", I know that you understand that you've gotten so much more than that. I am such a fan of yours, and know that you will continue to build your reputation as someone who makes this forum a better place to be. Congrats to you!
And that's it for us! In the next post I will post the vote breakdown as well as the judge comments for those who want to see them. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in this game! It's been a blast, and it's my honour to know in a teeny way I'm helping to make this place better. Never forget the power of positive thinking!
Until next time...
Keep it classy!

Congrats to all three. You all have shown growth and have done extremely well throughout all the challenges! Your speeches were excellent and made the decision hard.

Omg.
The tears running down my face.
I didn't want this to end.
I had SO much fun. And CONGRATS to Jad for winning. I truly feel like the right person won.
To the judges, thank you for always taking the time to read through our entries and provide us with meaningful feedback that we could not only apply to ATRL, but our real lives.
I would also just like to once again thank EVERYONE that made this season a success. I had a blast and I hope everyone else did too.

You had me sold all the way up until your final paragraph where it was like you were handing in the win. You deserve to take this competition just as much as anyone else, but it's like you don't want it in a way. And that's something that can't go ignored. Your entry was absolutely fantastic, but seeing you so unsure of yourself makes me unsure to crown you the winner of this competition either.
|
I wasn't unsure, actually I was 100% confident about writting that last paragraph because (just like Matty said) I realized that my entries during the last two weeks weren't strong enough to be compared with Jad's or Nicki's entry. Not going to lie, I wanted to win just like everyone else but if that would have happened it would be unfair for people like Jad and Nicki who did their best in the last classes so instead of writting why I was supposed to win, I wrote about why I didn't deserve to win and why Jad was the best choice.
I don't regret my decision and at the end it was fun to be part of this semester.
but if you want to start #Justice4Barbie I wouldn't mind.
