But that urban fanbase is irrelevant at the VMAs. This isn't the BET Awards. The demographic that is in tune with these awards isn't that familiar with Robin, even if they know Blurred Lines.

He was just standing there the whole time though, it's not like he was grinding on anybody. And he was never thought of as an innocent teen star so people don't care what he does, he's just some random one hit wonder (as of right now). People have been following Miley for years.

I don't think it's rooted so much in sexism as it is in the fact that everything about Miley's actions was so ****ing tryhard and desperate and embarrassing while Robin Thicke didn't really do much.

Just because he "stood there" & let Miley grind him doesn't mean he wasn't as cringeworthy for even letting them perform like that together.

Also, Robin looked good. Miley looked like a ****ing mess, her hair and outfit were disgusting.
