Lana Del Rey is taking a six-month hiatus from stage and studio after confessing her career has drained her of inspiration.
The singer has announced her recent performance at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Ill., will be her last in a while. In a statement released on Thursday, she said, "I don't think (my current career's) been conducive to writing, being on the road and all that.
"I don't really feel inspired to write at all, but beforehand, when I was in Brooklyn for nine years... I was kind of a night owl and just walked around and met weird people. That was me picking up life experiences and meshing them into my own. That really did it for me.
"Actually, Lollapalooza is my last live commitment. It's too bad 'cause it's been such a long time since the last record. I really feel like I need six months to live again, time to be, like, normal or abnormal. I don't have anyone writing anything for me. It's such an internal well and it's not full."
Does she ever plan on ****ing touring in the US? My god. I've bought both of her albums. She's my 2nd most played artist of all time ffs I know she hasn't had a hit in the US yet but she has good album sales and a fanbase strong enough for theaters.
That's a pretty generous time span, considering how long others have waited for their faves. She'll be fine, but Interscope better milk the hell out of Born to Die, it's selling and she's done no promotion.
It feels like she doesn't like the music industry, maybe it turned out to be different from what she thought?
I really like her and I can't wait for her next album because she's really talented and makes awesome music to chill too. I love her! So I hope she doesn't take too long.
