The part of your post shading Katy's music for begin so uninteresting that the live of a cat revolves around success? This sitting on a high horse attitude makes every other fanbase wanting to drag the monsters.
I'm stanning for her because of the hidden gems on the albums, her pre-fame songs and her story that helped me transition from graduation to finding my "Capitol",
a place/job where I can feel home after wandering around on the labor market.
One of the questions I asked was "Can I still enjoy her performing in a small venue? No production, no large crowd,...". Yes!
When her success declines, it's the right time for her to show her other side and make more songs like the hidden gems on the albums. I'm still waiting for that, like I waited 10 years for seeing Nightwish with a worthy singer live.
You might think that some of us care much about charts, sales and radio spins. It's only a response on outlandish predictions and (trying to) humble down some monsters.
