Catch My Breath is definitely an underdog here and I don't expect a nom for it, but Kelly is very respected in the industry (see her Stronger album Grammy win) and she has a lot of support from the Country crowd that might vote for her to get a nom so don't underestimate her. I'd be ecstatic if she got a nom, just not expecting it.
I'd like to see:
Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man
Sara Bareilles - Brave
Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
Philip Philips - Gone, Gone, Gone
Kelly Clarkson - Catch My Breath

Earth to MJboston, Catch My Breath won't get a nomination anywhere.
Let's get that out of the way now.
It's a flop single with zero impact + zero acclaim + zero sales.

Um, excuse me sir, but CMB was a GREATEST HITS single, and still managed a top 20 Hot 100 peak with over 20 weeks on the chart. It is currently sitting at #5 on the mediabase AC chart after being released to radio over 10 months ago, and is #2 for the year to date (and gaining quickly on #1). It also went top 5 at Hot AC, and almost top 10 at CHR, despite the HAC/AC leaning sound of song. It also went #1 on the Dance/Club chart . Also, since when is nearly 1.6 million downloads (and still selling 10k a week) in the US equal to zero?? That's more than The Way or Heart Attack sold, if I recall - and those were both lead STUDIO ALBUM singles, which hit #1 on iTunes and had top 10 Hot 100 peaks.
And zero acclaim? Hm, the critics beg to differ:
"The song has received positive reception from music critics, with most of them commending the song's uplifting theme and lyrical content. Immediately after premiering on radio, Sam Lansky of Idolator remarked: "The song is classic Kelly Clarkson, although much less bruised than many of her heartbreak anthems: The production is clean and sparkly, with a propulsive back-beat and clear vocals."[8] Neon Limelight wrote, "The upbeat song is really less about her career and more about where she is now in her life and her new found ability to appreciate what really matters."[14] Hardeep Phull of the New York Post gave the song three stars, saying: "this is the euphoric sound of her (Clarkson) looking to the future. The Texan sounds high on life, and it makes "Catch My Breath" one of the best songs she’s recorded in years — warm, upbeat and boasting a chorus so big, you could land a plane on it."[15] Jocelyn Vena of MTV News also added, "Kelly Clarkson is still pop's sassy "Miss Independent", but these days, she's a bit more willing to ask for help. Clarkson's uplifting new single "Catch My Breath" not only pays homage to her strong-willed musical persona, but also to the people who have helped her grow into the woman she is today."
Critics also applauded Clarkson's vocal performance harmoniously interweaving with the song's arrangement. Mark Hogan of Spin wrote: "American Idol’s most successful champion demonstrates just how she plans to keep up with the young guns on the triumphant midtempo song, which moderately incorporates the EDM builds recently in favor with everyone from Pink to Taylor Swift. Clarkson's always-powerful voice still sets her apart from the club-pop pack. If there's a whiff of lite-FM maturity, it feels earned."[1] Amy Sciarretto of Popcrush gave the song three and a half stars out of five, she wrote: "It’s her voice and the undulating beat that make this song a toe-tapper from the opening note to the closing one. The organic tone of Clarkson’s voice is what prevents the song from sounding too "synthy" or studio-created, which is often an issue with pop songs. There is no trickery here; it's all Clarkson being a vocal diva."[16] Jenna Hally Rubenstein of MTV Buzzworthy remarked, "As you might expect, "Catch My Breath" is a sunny, synth-laden pop jam that showcases Kelly's unreal set of pipes, and speaks to the difficulties that come with staying in the record industry."[17] Bené Viera of VH1 remarked, "The song is celebratory in that it acknowledges she’s going to live her life the way that makes her happy. Her voice flows from a leveled alto to a high near-scream for the chorus."[18] On March 5, 2013 Billboard ranked the song #49 in its list of Top 100 American Idol Hits of All Time."

i'm pretty sure Rihanna is eligible for Stay and she has a better chance winning with Stay than Diamonds imo, so she should definitely be getting a nomination

Tell that Damien flop.
Yeah. Uhh. Sadly Damien knows absolutely nothing about the Grammy's since he's thinking impact and sales have everything to do with them. Esperanza Spalding, anyone? The Grammy's have given nods to hugely successful records of course, but that's not all that it's about. If you have a lot of industry respect, you'll get far.
I already said I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't get nominated, I'm not even expecting it to. I said that's what I'd LIKE to see.
No one thought Stronger would win Best Pop Vocal Album last year and it did so... bye.

Bruno Mars is confirmed
Lana could get one as well - everyone loves that song.
Personally I hope P!nk will get one for Try cuz' I love that song. But chances of her winning are dismal.
If Adele is nominated we don't need to wait till Grammy night to know who's winning.

Two things, bud.
1) Taylor is a superior vocalist to Kelly? Let us not.
2) Katy Stans have no business in threads associated with Grammys. GTFO
