I honestly do feel like many people don't genuinely like certain aritst on here, but only stan for them because of their success and not genuinely for their music or artistry. Are you a victim of that, or can you expose someone who doe that?
Most of our faves on here have both though (Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, P!nk, etc.), while some have neither, so this question is pointless for most stans on this forum.
Music is always first for me! I don't care much about talent if your talented and your music sucks no one would listen to it!
The same reason why there's only certain artist who can make good pop song. You either just have it or not!
Mess. A song or artist flopping or underperforming does NOT make it more artistic and less generic than songs that do better chart-wise and vice-versa. Why single out Katy? Let it go. She's winning the battle. And I stan for people and music that I truly like and admire.
It's unlikely I'd have discovered my fave if she was unsuccessful.
But as a stan, I definitely prioritise her artistry and musicianship.

Y'all can't say you stan solely for 'artistry' or 'talent' when you stan for mainstream popstars and wouldn't even have known or cared about them had they not hit the mainstream music scene,especially when there are FAR less known people who are more talented than all of these women combined.
And I stan for people and music that I truly like and admire.
