As far as radio, she's becoming less credible. The media's also onto her demise (Entertainment Weekly's drag), and the public isn't buying her music anymore. Something needs to be done before 11.11. Promoting a clearly unwanted song to the high heavens isn't going to work.

It's already too late for that. If "Applause" doesn't take off on its own merit, then radio won't take to anything else she has to offer for the rest of the era.

That, and radio would be confused as to whether they should spin the new single, or "Applause." Hell, many stations I'm sure would prefer to play her recurrents.

Her career has never needed another Edge Of Glory-sized shot in the arm more than it does right now.

I don't think the awful lyrics have something to do with that, I think it is because Applause sounds way too much dated, no one is here for an EDM influenced pop song.

That wouldn't even help. TEOG itself was only a moderate success. Never broke back into the top 5 after its first week.

If awful lyrics were an important criteria for pop radio (or radio period), majority of the songs charting would have been major flops.

#mess ,this thread has turned into a save applause thread ...I have to say if gaga has a song like TEoG on ArtPop (or ARTPOP) ...It would definetly help her ...that's the only song I use on BTW....but I must say radio is very sensitive ......1 or 2 bad songs and they throw u out ....

I think another POP song like EOG would definitely do well for Gaga, but looking at the producers and direction of the album I'd be shocked the next single wasn't another dated dance song.

If it's produced by Zedd, that's obviously going to happen.

People need to visit ukmix first. Learn the basics then come back to atrl. Cause here people don't seem to be as patient to explain the things that some people may not find easy to understand.

Ha ha now that I've thought about it yeah , everyone seems to hate the song ...VMA's might help but she needs that second single to be really great else her career trend will just continue on its downward path

Moving on to less depressing stuff ....I just bought lana's born to die album after being bored ....and I think I might start stanning for her a bit ....summertime sadness should have smashed long ago even without a remix ....
