Mocking suicide is equally or even more offensive than racism, homophobia or other forms of discriminatory hate speech made on a pop music forum like this. So even though what you are saying is correct, it doesn't make sense to weed out a specific form of hate speech and allow other radically offensive comments to slide.
People who make discriminatory comments in SYG do it with (or I hope they do) a level of self-awareness that what they are saying is ridiculous. But...mocking the very real deaths of young kids that are not celebrities nor pop culture figures is pretty below the grain as well.
So this moral compass doesn't make sense. SYG is the place to say horrible things. That's what it is. You either participate or you don't.

Yes, you've reiterated my point about everything being "unacceptable" in SYG, but
racism is on another stratosphere, on a different plane. Right now, members are ridiculously putting forth the argument:
"Oh, well, if this is allowed in SYG, then racism should be allowed in SYG." Riiight. It doesn't seem like a "big deal" now because the
majority of the racist comments that are being posted in SYG are directed at African Americans. But what about when those racially-charged comments start branching out into anti-Semitic, Nazi Supremacy territory? Or attacks on Muslims or Asians? If those "ape" comments and "ape" gifs are allowed in SYG, can you imagine what
else lies down the road? It's like a gateway drug. That's why moderators need to begin
strictly supervising racist posts in SYG with warnings and thread bans before it really becomes a breeding ground for people to be despicably racist, which, again, is
not the point of SYG.
If moderators fail to do that, then SYG should remain closed indefinitely.
