Wait, so if the rumour from the insider is true, does that mean she will take a long break after this era?

If you monsters spend as much time collecting Britney gifs as you spend money on Applause, then maybe Gaga would go to number 1.

YES. But I don't think their voices would mesh together nicely.

By the way, when Britney's lead single opening #s sell more than Applause's opening #s, the thread should be called 'Hasbeeney 15 yrs into her dead career outsells Phenomena #1Ga's Applause opening sales'. Who's gonna make it?

Britney is such an amazing part of my life. I was all about rap music until I saw Baby one more time. It was Britney that made me love pop music. It was the making the video of You drive me crazy that turned me into a low key fan that still claimed rap (Nas, Jay z, Lauryn, Beastie boys, Biggie, Snoop, Redman, Method man) into a full fledged STAN.
During the tough times, I looked to her to bring me joy. Her music and videos gave me energy and kept my spirits up.
Now,
-3 degrees...
-90k+ salary for a career (not a job)
-front row at any concert
-house owned (working on a 2nd home)
-car owned
-living life on my own terms and having some amazing family and friends and Britney serves as an extended family member and pure fascinating entertainment.
I taped the making of the vides, tv concert specials, commercials, award show performances, trl interviews, promo interview etc.
I witnessed as a teen and young adult her before social media and after social media and not as a kid too young to capture the perspective of both kids and adults.
I remember her Pepsi ad on the side of our vending machine in High school.
I literally watched her transformed from a doe eyed girl to a strong woman with my family shading her and telling me that she wouldn’t last past 2 years.
She became a pop phenomenon as I entered high school. By the time I graduated she was in a precarious point where pop was dying and only the strong were meant to survive.
Then I enter college and deal with Cry me a river and a joint tour. Then my sophomore year (10 years ago in 2003) which was my favorite year ever Queen Britney blessed our souls with In the zone. Toxic owned souls in bold letters and Breathe on me in the fine print. Showdown always has a special place in my spirit as does the whole album. For the record, I went to a historically black college and not only was In the zone played (in particular Toxic, Showdown, Breathe on me and I got that boom boom) but Toxic was the opening number for her band from 2004-2005 at football games. Her impact crosses all boundaries. It did years prior when she came out with Slave and Boys.
In the zone was the main album I identify with Britney so much on as I was going through my college experimental phase with partying and new found freedom. I always get this weird feeling of nostalgia listening to seven songs: Showdown, Toxic, Don’t hang up, Shadow, Early mornin, Touch of my hand and Breathe on me.
I watched her do that cringeworthy Chaotic with everyone going from loving Toxic and she finally started gaining respect with In the zone to throwing it away and me being naive and a true stan and looking past the obvious signs.
She’s in a ‘I told you so wedding’ they said
She’s stupid for hooking up with a dude that has a baby on the way they said
Why would she go from Justin to a back up dancer they said
He’s using her for her fame and money they said
All the while I made myself believe that she just wanted to be with a regular guy after being burned by celebrity and they were hating on him because he was too regular. How naive of me.
Anyways, I watched her turn into a mother of one and another on the way by the time I graduated college (magna *** laude). As I began my career, I watched her meltdown with people in shock. At the time, most of the people i worked with were in their 20s too and you could just hear nothing that Monday. On the contrary, when she announced her divorce October 2006 people were taking jabs at her loser soon to be ex Federline. Sigh.
My family did not like her and said she couldn’t sing and she was the next Debbie Gibson. They told me Christina was going to outlast her and outdo her and I told them that Britney’s blueprint is undeniable and she will be around for as long as she chooses. They laughed and ridiculed me.
15 years later...Look who’s talking now...yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
