LG: That’s really hard. You’re asking me to choose one of my children! [laughs] I feel terrible. I really love the lyrics to ARTPOP, the title track of the album. “We could belong together, ARTPOP” The words seem really simple but it’s through the creative experiences with my friends that we’re able to create this thing that go together – art and pop. It’s a reverse of what Andy Warhol began – this idea that you can take Marilyn off the canvas and put the canvas inside of her. It’s in our belonging together. The album is just a metaphor for love – the love that I share with my fans.
This interview was pretty good. I have newfound respect for what Gaga's trying to do with this album. I like that she is constantly in search of new artists, producers, sounds, etc.
I think the only problem is she that she seems to be trying too hard to blend certain underground concepts with mainstream pop & it ends up f*cking up the execution of her ideas. But, so far, she is starting on a better foot than BTW, imo.
I'm really eager to hear how that tittle track is going to play out, specially the melodies. I've always loved the "we could, we could belong together" line ever since she shared it.
