I've been messing around as of late customizing, and tinkering with little things here and there that I thought it'd be nice to talk with anyone else around who enjoys doing the same. Care to post your favorite newly discovered app? Anyone hate or still refusing to update to Mountain Lion? I'm still on Lion and SL.

I've been messing around with DragThing lately, trying to figure it out. I installed a new theme that seems to fit well within my desktop, but I'm still tinkering with how to set it up.

There are people who refuse to update to Mountain Lion? Why is that?

I updated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion when I got my new Macbook and I've never had a single problem with it.

For me, customizing purposes, honestly Once I heard you couldn't change the dock or other things in Mountain Lion I tried holding off for the longest I'm sure I'll give in soon.

I have a question though. Besides the official one, does anyone have any recommended Twitter apps they use?

I want something clean, preferably small, and bugless functional

^ For Twitter () I used to use Tweetie but I think that's just the official one now? I don't have much of a problem with it, for me it's the sleekest, fastest one. Things like Tweetdeck and Echofon are a mess...

I don't care what my dock looks like The Mountain Lion one is so much nicer than the old one though.

ubiuyiuogyy at the shameless Twitter promo. Right now I'm using Itsy, but I hate how the ****ing code signed icon stays lodged in the dock when it's running. Just stay in the damn menubar, ugly.

Oh girl I could never. My dock it's icons needs to look casket ready at ALL times.

Oh okay. Do you use like apps for customizing that don't work on ML, or is it just the customization ML itself does or doesn't allow? I didn't notice any changes to SL tbh but maybe that's just me, I hide the dock and don't have a lot of stuff in there so I don't need to customize it.

As for Twitter, I use Echofon because it allows a better search option than any other app I've tried.

And ew sis, you keep that dock! I'm pretty sure you must be able to edit the dock in Mountain Lion though, probably not through the same apps but there has to be some way of doing it.

And about what nineteen said, that's a good point. The official Twitter app sucks for searches.

Lion is the worst version. It's too heavy. You have to wait like a minute or more to finally start your mac.
Mountain Lion is like a Snow Leopard, just great and works perfectly with every model. I own a Macbook 13inch Mid 2010 and I don't have any problem.

I had the Mavericks beta but all the apps were crashing everytime, I'll just wait till the Official release.

I used Tweetbot, I didn't buy it of course ($19,99 ) but I really like it, You can find almost the same functions from the website. Now it doesn't work for me anymore the website support says that I have to update it directly from the Appstore, but I didn't buy it, so I can't

Wait a minute, how come I didn't know about this? Apple releasing OS's like new iPhones now.

My docks look better in context with the desktop as a whole. ie.

Not my current one, but my one of my upmost fave looks. And I'm not sure, but if there is a way to customize it in ML, it's probably with some shady application or technique I'm not willing to risk just yet

Why does everyone hate Lion? It works just great for me! But sis, my first MacBook (which I still have) is an old white unibody that had Lion, and then like completely shut down when I tried to install Sims 3. So I had my mother take it to get fixed, but she didn't take it to the Apple store. When I got it back, they had replaced it with a Core Duo instead of a Core 2 Duo and downgraded to SL, so I can't even install any of the amazing 64-bit programs I constantly come across I'm not willing to shell out more coins just to replace it though.

And goddamn $20 for a Twitter app?

Anyone know if it would be safe to upgrade to OS X 10.8 via t0rrent? I got this laptop in May 2012 then ****ing Apple comes out with a new OS two months later

Usually when you buy a Macbook you can upgrade for free if a new OS comes out shortly after (but you weren't quick enough ), I don't really see the harm in it, but sis it's less than $20, shell out the coins.

@Kitt: I definitely think Mountain Lion is a huge performance increase over Lion. It ran awful on my iMac, but I got a MBP last year and Mountain Lion runs like a dream

I'm really dissatisfied with Mountain Lion. I loved how on Leopard there was a really convenient desktop icon for the hard drive but they got rid of it in later os x releases

I'm on Mountain Lion too! I hate how the computer is sluggish after I wake it up from deep sleep

Click Finder, preferences, general, and under "show these items on the desktop" choose hard disks.
