Probably because of their news and answers section. And most people already have google chrome and/or google search bars.

I use Yahoo and Google about 50/50. Yahoo is great for news. My parents use Yahoo as well. I don't see how this is surprising tbh

I only use yahoo for news. Bing is better than Yahoo Search Engine. Google remains the best
