Pokemon X&Y marks the series first entry into a 3D world with full 3D battles, a first in a series that has always used sprites for their main titled games.

Pokemon X&Y has already sold 200k+ in Japan in two days alone, and the special 3DS editions that come with the game loaded onto the 3DS also sold out in less then a few hours in Japan.

What are your predictions for its first week sales?

I wonder how big the sales number will be considering this will be the franchises first release done worldwide on the same day.

Black/White sold over 1.08 Million in the US alone in one day.

Worldwide: 5+ Million

...but the DS sold over 120 million copies by the time B/W were released, while the 3DS is sitting at 35 million...

Pokemon better help the 3DS start shifting those units. We know Mario couldn't.

Just found some D/P receipts. They sold 1.5 million in the first week in Japan. I think the X and Y hype is much bigger and could hit 2 million in Japan. 1 million in the US seems plausible, and maybe a little under 1 million in Europe + Australia.
