It could happen today though. Lorde is just a monster right now, I hate to say it, but Gaga doesn't stand a chance. Even if the performance is amazing via VMAS, the song hasnt been proving great longevity on iTunes, and will get passed again shortly afterwards. I would love to see both Smashing the top 2 though
She doesn't even need to release the video yet. She / her label could wait 3 more weeks to release the video when Blurred Lines points are lower and get the #1 with the help of the video (in case she isn't #1 by then).
