Just a few things to take into consideration:

Gaga released an empowerment anthem as her lead single from Born This Way. Major success.
Katy released an empowerment anthem as her lead single from Prism. Major success.

Gaga used vehicles to promote her album.
Katy used a vehicle to promote her album.

Gaga unlocked songs through games in the weeks leading up to the album release.
Katy is unlocking songs in the weeks leading up to the album release.

To be honest, I don't blame her or any artist, if there's anything to take from Gaga, it's the amount of hard work she puts into promoting her music. If only all artists cared as much as these two.

Oh, how could I forget. A lead single accused of sounding like another song.
