That some of you actually agree with him being a traitor
In the name of national security will you allow your own country to do anything? Violate your privacy or even other rights when they think you've got something that could be wrong FOR THEM ( remember that many times these kind of things always have a purpose, and not always the collective one)
If he had ONLY leaked the documents related to crimes I would be sympathetic.
35 years seems excessive, but he deserved to spend some time in prison.
I agree with this entirely and the punishment being a little excessive. Some of what he leaked was so irrelevant and dealt with other soldiers causalities and their details, etc. It's disrespectful and insensitive to his fallen comrades and their families.
The thing about all this is... What if that information had compromised other soldiers' safety and higher commands' security etc? It's more about the fact that he deliberately broke the law (hell, I'd label him a traitor in any instance).
All this hoopla about Obama or the US's insecurity and paranoia is getting old. That's another messy story for another day.
I think its right to put in here my open letter from the SYG thread
ps I saw you at Jay Leno, with your sardonic smile when you said that you don't know whether Snowden is guilty or not and he should come to the US to clarify, lol.
Obama can wait sit for Snowden to comeback lol, especially after this
I hate to be THAT guy, but really? He receives 35 years in prison while people like Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman are free? Something is wrong with our justice system.
I guess because those people aren't a danger for the government.
