"Ooh Ooh Baby" ...

There's something so incredible about that song. It's really the only song in her catalog that I'm still loving more and more each time I hear it. On top of the fact that Fredwreck absolutely murdered the "Rock and Roll" (Gary Glitter) sample, her vocals are inexplicably perfect.

When the second verse starts, her harmonies literally make me quiver. Kara DioGuardi did a magnificent job with the vocal production. If you've ever heard the "Ooh Ooh Baby" stems, it's one of the few songs where Britney does the majority of her backing vocals and every vocal track she laid for this song could stand alone and do the song justice.

It's song like this that make me really appreciate Britney as an artist who can put out an album full of great tracks. Not just a lumpy mixtape with good singles and a bunch of highly forgettable filler. Every album for her has a track like this. On ...Baby it was "E-Mail My Heart." Overall, it's a pretty quirky and kitschy track, but again, the backing vocals are magnificent and show a lot of versatility. You could take some of the backing vocals, change up the beat and easily have an R&B song. Another favorite would be "He About to Lose Me." Even though some of the more audible backing isn't Britney, I love her voice in the verses, and the way it gets higher and higher the more worried she becomes in the lyrics. She's really emoting the story in the song with her voice and not just singing the song. Makes it seem so much more personal.

Anywho... I just had a moment where I was listening to "Ooh Ooh Baby" and said to myself, "This is why Britney is my favorite artist."

I even liked will.i.am on that song. I really feel he gave the best he's capable of. If only the bridge weren't so awful and Britney did it or had a verse there or something. It could have been an even bigger hit and much better!
