Do you think album covers are an important aspect to an album selling more or less copies than it could've otherwise?

My opinion: yes. I mean if an album is great it will still sell well but a good cover really helps seal the deal in my opinion.

Extremely so. People judge a book (in this case) a CD by its cover.

Yes. Can't Be Tamed by Miley Cyrus is a perfect example of a CD cover that turns buyers away.

Yes, they set the tone for the album.
If the album cover looks bland, I'm gonna have a constant headache when I listen to the music. It also sets the moods of the songs. Lighter colours- more wintery, soft. Darker colours- more spring- like, etc...

I think this has been discussed before, I might be thinking of something else, but yes they do matter. It's what the public sees when buying music (whether online or at the store). If your album cover looks like trash, people will only assume the music is trash too.

The album cover should always reflect the quality of the album. Even if the album is ****, a visually appealing album cover will be more likely to rope in buyers.

That's why this bad album cover trend has to stop.

Yeah, for the most part. If it's tacky, people won't buy it.

Yes. They're what attracts people in the first place. I've listened to a few albums over others because their covers were more intriguing to me.

Yes. I feel like an album cover, in a way, should represent the theme of the album.

Of course it does. Especially if it's a concept album. It's the imagery to the story.

For example a great concept album I picked up because of it's great cover.



You just simply can't have an album anymore without a great cover otherwise people will just pass it by.
Even digitally it's important because what if someone was browsing the album section. A standout cover will make them click on said album and look at the material within it.
