I am going to have to side with Ed Sheeren and suggest that Xtina go the neo-soul/urban/R&B route again. Her vocals are best in the mid register, where those songs tend to call for. By sticking to that we could get some damn good bops, like Tell Me without Xtina pressing down on her chords too hard. A "Your Body" here and there will be ok, but she definitely needs to stick to what she is best at.
...especially with the way the industry is moving.
She sings any genre well. But soul/urban/(real)R&B would be more befitting of her immense talent. And I agree some catchy pop tunes would be good here and there.
I know so many people who were so touched by songs like Oh Mother. The way she expresses emotion and the message of her songs especially live.
I would like her to work with Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé and Adele's producers. Add Linda Perry to that and maybe one or two more poppy producers and we get an awesome album imo.

I'd like to see her do something with Danja. At least he wouldn't have to autotune her voice so much like Britney.
It's going to be an uphill battle with dance music right now. The market was already transitioning when Lotus came out, so it's going to change even more when her next album comes out. If she was black, that would be okay, because Rhythmic would still play her, but she's not, so it makes sense to go for something more R&B/Soul leaning but still with a pop appeal that can crossover to HAC and Rhythmic.
Christina Aguilera gave me some life when younger, I'll root for the bitch here and there, she has potential and a good voice and talent, use it Legend X!!
