I was listening to Z100, and there was something about "iHeartradio presents Quick Cuts, now with Taylor Swift" and they played "Enchanted". The smash that never was tbh.
Contrary to popular opinion, I really think the singles from the album were right (except for "Enchanted" and "Speak Now" not being released), it's just that they weren't handled right.
If "Mean" was the 3rd single in February 2011, and had gotten a Grammy performance + a uptempo remix sent to pop, it could've easily went top 10. Then, "The Story Of Us" should've gotten a VMA performance to launch it on the charts with the video release being the same week. If you don't include the first week peak of 17 when it wasn't even a single, "Sparks Fly" peaked at 42 in like mid-November. The bonus tracks should've never been released to iTunes, cause if you notice, the week they debuted, "Sparks Fly" fell like 9 spots and didn't rebound, causing them to abandon it and to release "Ours" (which also happened to peak at 42 as a single). If they released it in December to country + pop, with a video premiere (normal video or live, didn't really matter) and a few talk show performances, it could've gone top 30, maybe even top 20. Now, let's say they released "Enchanted" in March 2012, with a music video with footage from the 'Wonderstruck' commercial, and maybe one performance or two, and it could've went top 25, maybe top 20. Release "Speak Now" in June 2012, with a simple video tailored after the look for the song in the album booklet, and end that chapter of Taylor's career.
After that, release
Red in April 2013. the singles for that album are another story though.
