that painting of his in particular, yes. first, it's name is the BIRTH of venus. and, it was a renaissance piece, the one of the first to feature a naked goddess since ancient times, when everything at the time was focused on christianity. the way her team is describing it makes perfect sense.

I figured that the mattress scene was supposed to reference her past. But didn't we already cover that in Marry the Night? And the Edge of Glory? And it will be further covered in Swine apparently. I'd much rather hear Gaga sing about Fame in her life now that she has it rather than talk about it like she needs it and talk about how she dreamed of it. It's no secret she's famous. And its not interesting to hear for the hundredth time, "When I was a struggling artist in the lower east side, I used to dream of Fame..."

Anyway, I don't want to seem like I'm hating, I really wanted to like everything Gaga does but I'm having trouble connecting to it. I think I am not into her with with Inez and Vinoodh. And that's been a lot so far.

Secondly, if he wanted to reference a painting, he could at least tried to SEEM cultured and referenced Bouguereau's painting rather than the most mainstream painting of Venus available. It just seems so tacky to reference Botticelli's painting over the other paintings of Venus.

However, I like the scene. Gaga looks good and happy. I would have loved to have seen her rise from the smoke (to symbolize the sea foam) on top of a seashell, while naked. It would've seemed more coherent and sublime.

Can you not with this ********.. First of all how an artist represents there artwork is not to be decided by someone who used to fake stan for Lady Gaga.. Remember, "Im the leader of the monsters".. Second, if she did do what you just said, instead of saying what you did just now you'd be saying "there she goes copying again"! So take a few seats and stay out of the Gaga threads. Thank you

Really? Nothing that was explained seemed that non-obvious to me. The shells is obviously venus inspired, the hand bras are obviously to do with the link between hands and applause, the mattress scene was obviously her prior to fame, the egg is obviously a reference to her egg thing, etc.
