hi so ive had this laptop for like over a year and i never figured out how to change the background im pretty sure i got Windows 7 and its a Notebook like the tiny laptops (I got a noteback because normal laptops are too much and im always carrying it around for college and stuff) but yeah ive been stuck with the background and everything, also does anyone know how to change the taskback to look clear? mwah xx
Well, I have a normal sized laptop, but right clicking on the desktop under "Personalize". A window should come up showing to change the background, window color, sounds, screen saver.
To make the taskbar transparent, click "Window Color". Chose whatever color and click "enable transparency" and turn the color intensity all the way to the left.
Maybe you have windows 7 starter? That will not let you change your background and aero glass (that's what makes your task bar and windows look transparent) is not available but I think there are some hacks and programs you can download that will allow you to change your wallpaper.

nnnn you can hack your laptop with either uxstyle or universal theme patcher, and you can use .msstyles themes to make your task bar transparent and a load of other things. I don't recommend you do it unless you know what you're doing though the risks are REAL
Y'all need to stop being such a mess. If the OP has a notebook with Win 7 Starter then as far as I'm aware you actually can't change the desktop background, so this question is actually perfectly valid

Anyways you cant do much customization in starter edition, including wallpapers, aero and so on. But there are many workarounds, just google "starter wallpaper changer" and you should be able to change it after downloading the thingy
