I kinda like their Korean songs, the only problem for me was The Boys album
Oh/Run Devil Run is a great album, Genie/Hoot minis are awesome, I love some tracks from IGAB and I can't judge their debut album since i didn't listened yet
Whenever the topic of Girl's Generation's Japanese discography comes up people act like it's the second coming of Jesus when it's really not that good. People only praise it so much because their two albums didn't have as much filler as usual but it's still not amazing like everyone says it is

But I got into SNSD though their Japanese music and it is as good as Blackout tbh. Clearly defined musical direction which is both current yet stands the test of time. I remember how excited I was to download their Korean albums and I thought that it was some kind of iTunes joke so your thesis as to why people praise their (deserving) 1st Japanese album is wrong for me.
I adore their Japanese discog. Honestly, there isn't a single song I don't like on either album, except for maybe Born To Be A Lady, which is still pretty.
I agree about Seohyun in TTS but not because I don't like her; I just think her voice sounds so similar to Taeyeon's that there isn't really any value in sticking her in there. I'm glad she got to show off her vocals but I'd much rather have Sunny or maybe Jessica.
EDIT: Wait I forgot about Let It Rain, I hate that song.
