DM2 is a smash!

I can see the general appeal of these yellow boogers, so it won't surprise me that they may come out in this contest as the victor.

But lemme donate my coins to the heartier Little Monsters Foundation this weekend.

I saw both this weekend and I prefer DM2. I laughed throughout the whole movie, can't really say the same for MU .

It had a better story, good animation, and fans have been waiting 11 and a half years for a sequel and it did well on Opening Weekend.

For DM2, the minions are nice and all but its okay.

MU will. Plus they were smart to make the setting in college being all of us who grew up with it, are college age now.

Despicable Me 2 came out a week and a half later than Monsters U and:

Monsters University = Worldwide: $474,160,000
Despicable Me 2 = Worldwide: $472,437,000

DM2 is about to win.

Despicable Me 2 will outgross MU in like 3 days

DM 2 won.

DM2 has already pulled about 50 million ahead. Its over. MU is going to get buried.

I saw Monsters today and was shocked at how much I liked it.I wasn't expecting it to be so funny.All the reviews I read said it was missing heart but they were so wrong.The whole thing about fitting in and belonging really hit me.Sure,it would've been better as a sequel but people may have been more critical of it

Even some ****** movies (to reviewers) hit home to some people. That's why it's not that good to put so much into critics' opinions.

Monster Inc is Pixar's 5th most successfull in US but only 9th WW, so I don't see these thing as you guy say
"You have two big groups dying to see it: kids & their parents"
"Monsters U, people were dying to see this movie"
"it's one of Pixar's more successful movies"
"fans have been waiting 11 and a half years"

The Monster movies is pretty local and D2 now is doing better both in US and outside US.

The grosses should be final now.
