Rihanna made Rated R right after the international pop sensation that was Good Girl Gone Bad, we wanted more sugar pop and she gave us Hip-Hop/Rock/Pop, branching out. It was a commercial disaster but it's the most loved LP she has within her fan base. When the artist takes control and creates something magnificent their fans should have no problem with it. They shouldn't try to release what ever their fans want, they should release what they think is the best song for their career and legacy.
But then again, the Little Monsters are Lady GaGa's only defining point now, so maybe she should listen to y'all...

But
Rated R has really done nothing for Rihanna's legacy at all, though?
And just because they're fans doesn't mean they have to eat up anything that their favorites serve to them.
Gaga's song sucks, and I'm kinda glad that she didn't get a high first week just because her fanbase is so big. This proves to me that they aren't as gullible as one likes to believe.
