Am I the only one who hears something a bit urban in "Royals" The finger snappin'/bass almost gives it an urban feel
It's going to blow up like "Paper Planes" did. It reminds me of that song for some odd reason
I think some of Lana Del Rey's songs are urban-sounding as well. Like I think the beat of Born To Die is similar to Un-Thinkable by Alicia Keys. She said in an interview that it's rap influenced:
Of the “Royals” in particular, Lorde said, “When I wrote Royals, I was listening to a lot of rap, but also a lot of Lana Del Rey, because she’s obviously really hip-hop influenced, but all those references to expensive alcohol, beautiful clothes and beautiful cars – I was thinking, ‘This is so opulent, but it’s also bulls**t.’”
