No way is TLOU going to outsell Pokemon. I would be elated if it sold that much, but it will likely not happen. It is a new IP, not the 32nd in the series (or whatever Pokemon they are on right now). TLOU is already done in Japan, but I think it did pretty well for the type of game that it was.
Seeing how much Japan loves those cute little animals, I think you're right that Pokémon will outsell The Last of Us then

Seeing as GTA IV sold 3.6 mil in the first day alone I think it's safe to say it will surpass what The Last of Us has sold thus far. Though admittedly it would be a refreshing change of pace to have a new / debut game be #1 for the year rather than just another installment of an established franchise.

Not sure if that 3.6 mil is total opening sales or just PS3 sales, but GTA V will outsell TLOU easily since it'll be multi plat. Don't really need to go into the sales for IV to see that

Yep, it will definitely outsell TLOU, which is alright, since GTA 5, is well... the 5th in the series (well there were others, but you get the point). Like you said, TLOU is a new IP, and will end this year as the highest selling new IP of the year easily. Also, there are reportedly rumors of TLOU being available for PS4 or something and there will be a DLC too, so I think we may see a huge boost in its sales before the year is over.

Lol. Right now it's already only the 7th best selling game of the year at 1.31 Million. No way it will be in the Top 10 or even Top 20 maybe by the end of the year.
