Donna Summer is known for her disco/dance hits, and I don't think she has one ballad (and I'm not talking about those songs that start off as ballads and then end up thumping disco jams) that people recognize her for. So, it's not about dance hits being forgotten; it's just that Gaga's dance hits - for the most part - don't have lasting impact outside of its period. How many of Gaga's past songs have seen a big resurgence and where are they charting? I mean, she has a new single out now.
Dance songs dont get as much recurrent airplay. I think he put all his eggs in one basket when it comes to dance music. It would have been a nice surprise to see him serve a Crazy for You or Live to Tell as a lead. Sonically, he wants to stick to just dance (no pun intended).
