Jesus christ, the average person won't associate a gay person with a drag queen because of one video. I don't get this ridiculous logic.
Never said it did.

Madonna and Cyndi never even did such associations and that was back in the 80s when the love that dare not speak its name was taboo.
pretty much this. Whenever she talks about gays it's either something related to being a "freak", "outcast", "insecure", etc. .
back in 2010 my two cousins and i wanted to go see a movie and i recommended "Salt" but one of them didn't want to watch it because she doesn't like St.Jolie(Blasphemy!) and she feared that she wouldn't like it, and after we saw it she was like "i loved it!".
Generally speaking, the LGBTQ community is still is viewed by many as a group of outcasts and I think Joanne's main goal is to teach people (gay or straight) to embrace their own brand of weirdness.

and OMG the weirdest thing happened back in 2011, i went to see a movie with my cousin and her friend. and we passed by a poster of a Katheryn's Part Of Me and her friend was like "i love katy perry!", and then inside the theater they showed facts about celebs before playing the movie, and Localniston came up and her friends was like "omg i love her she's my idol!" and when ST.Jolie came up it said that she used to collect knives when she was a teenager and she was like"ugh she's so weird!" and then Gaga came up and it said her birth name and she was like"Stefanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta?? what kind of name is that??"
