if it makes you feel better, then yes it was a promo single

The song was released digitally on May 9, 2011, and was added to the United States mainstream radio playlists on May 17, 2011. Initially released as one of two promotional singles for Born This Way, it shortly became the third single for the album following its success in digital outlets worldwide.
It's not that it makes me feel better, during its debut week (which is what we were talking about) it was a promotional single (part of the iTunes countdown, like 'Hair').
We've just discovered that those types of updates are the norm for a new Gaga song (sans BTW), TEOG being an example, no need for me to have any more meltdowns until something bad happens.
My fellow monsters need to calm down. No need to defend the song with endless excuses. It was a stupid decision to release the song under those circumstances. Interscope should've learned from Judas. Regardless, her performance so far is catastrophic, and that's that. At least be happy that both bits of music we've heard from this album are good. There's no need or even basis really to defend its performance Right Now.
It's hard for me to even watch anymore, because of the hole the fanbase is digging itself. Be careful with flinging the global excuses, the longevity excuses, and the album excuses, because my money is on the fact that Prism will outsell ARTPOP in the long run and even this holiday season, in the US and WW. Just take a chill pill and enjoy the song. Or jump ship and shh.

Word of advice : Stay away from kworb.net and livepopbars. You'll get ulcers.

Eminem's lead single debuts tomorrow at 10am.
Yeah.
The single is going to be featured on all the Call Of Duty promos too.

Eminem is set to make his return this fall. The hip-hop icon kicks
off his upcoming album by debuting his new song “Survival” in
the explosive trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
“Wasn’t ready to be a millionaire/ I was ill prepared/ I was
prepared to be ill though, the skill was there,” he raps on the
rap-rock anthem.
A female voice can also be heard on the empowering hook:
“This is survival of the fittest/ This is do or die.”
During a press conference on Wednesday, an Activision exec
announced that the song is the first release off Em’s
upcoming album, due this fall.
