Quality wise, people overrated "Applause." It's still the same noise Gaga has been producing since 2011, just with a catchier chorus. I wish she could do something as euphoric as "Sweet Nothing."

@ this STILL not even being remotely close to true
Wait, why isn't everyone using this list now that Gaga's on top? Is something wrong now that she's killing it and you can't drag her with it anymore? Oh.

Well she does have an album pre-order out too so she has an advantage.

But still that's a great leap
But I don't even mean her position relative Katy - there were stans of every artist in here trying to drag her for being low on the chart, and in her first day back she completely destroys everyone globally and all the people who liked this chart have seemingly forgotten about it! Very interesting.
I still don't get how Akon became so successful, especially at pop radio. His voice is incredibly off-putting, even though he has some good songs. He wasn't even successful in the Pitbull/Flo Rida. His singles did well, and they helped his albums sell.
Didn't one of his albums sell like 3 million copies just in the U.S. around '06 or '07?
