Oprah is such a strategist. Swissgate was stellar promo. If O wins, then we will see waterworks that would make dolphins blush. She has a few things in her favor that would help her.
1) She's friends with all the Hollywood big-wigs and has given them a platform to promote their projects for twenty five years.
2)Her last big memorable role was The Color Purple. People will remember that her last big role gave her an Oscar nomination. And it won't look so silly to give her another nomination.
3) Lee Daniels has gotten Oscars for Halle Berry and Monique. He is great at getting a showy, hard delivered role out of his actors.
4) Retribution for Viola.
I can't stand to hear her talk anymore. She'll spew some b.s. about how critics are stupid and what's worse...she'll go on to make a song about it (Awfulause) and release it as her lead single. Her whole Fame / destruction of the pop star thing is so played out. She has nothing left to say.
I'm hoping for a HQ version someday so I can tell
