BTR (and The Wanted) need to take a seat with the 1D shade.
1D puts out better quality music and are the much better group.
Not to mention, it was pointless to make Big Time Rush a real boyband because NO ONE thinks of them as a real boyband since they came from a fictional TV Show. One Direction came from a reality TV show - keyword REAL.
1D were real from the beginning. BTR weren't and they tried way too hard to do so.
It's a good thing Disney Channel did it right and separated Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus's music. It benefitted her in the long run. Nick didn't separate BTR from itself, and that's why they have struggled to even get a Top 40 hit in the US. That's probably why Victoria Justice flopped too because Gold sounds like a Victorious song. Ariana Grande is smashing because she separated herself from her TV show and created her own musical identity.
I like BTR, but they are the most naufactured band of the last years. Their whole band was in the end re-directed to that TV-show and their albums could have been much and much better, sinc ethey had some potential smashes, but fille dthe rest of their album with forgetable fillers.
There is no such definition to anything music genre or group/artist related, things are bound to change up. Change is what have things keep going.
