But these numbers are really tragic. Katy literally slaughtered her. I've always said that the outcomes of the BTW era would reflect on this era (as have you) but I did not think this would happen. Getting to #1 on iTunes and selling big first week is like one thing that is supposed to be guaranteed for a superstar....

The fact that this song was supposedly picked as the lead single a year ago makes me believe that the rest of the album is gonna be even crappier.

Gaga has the advantage of her album being available for preorder.
It would be damn right tragic if she couldn't overtake Katy and the rest of the competition with this tactic...

and it's her album pre order sales that push her ahead of Katy
with only the singles, Katy stays winning WORLDWIDE

Gaga is only ahead on overall Kworb because her album is up for pre order while Katy's isn't "Roar" is still #1 in more major markets, including the biggest one, and hasn't even been released in the second biggest for Western artists (UK)
