OOTB is a little Avril-ish, but TD made Katy a Katy Perry.
Agreed.
Katy's first album was along the lines of the rebellious pop-rock vein Avril is known for. Teenage Dream slowly steered away from that, but Roar seems to revert back in that direction, hence why the tweet even exists seeing as how it was about the song. Question is, is that good or bad?
L.A. Reid must be losing his hearing and sight because I don't know what the fu*k he's talking about. Avril didn't originate Punk or Pop Rock. She's not the first white girl to pick up a guitar, and she's not the first person to be emo.
Can you even imagine Avril singing "I Kissed A Girl," "Waking Up In Vegas," "Hot & Cold" or like.. anything on 'TD'? She got panned for doing "Girlfriend" so how can y'all honestly state that Katy's sound is biting what Avril did?
Absolutely. She is nothing but a generic product created to sound almost exactly like and follow in the footsteps of real artists like Avril and P!nk. The difference being that Avril and P!nk can sing.
Honey, Katy Perry sounded pitchy and off-key on the STUDIO version of Firework, so let's not even go there when it comes to her ability to "sing live."
