Is the praise for Applause real or just everyone forcing themselves to like it because its Gaga? The bridge is nice but the rest and the cringeworthy lyrics about pop culture especially
I've listened to it around 30 times and I still think it's predictable fizzle electro-pop. Her "You & I"-type vocals aren't making it any better. Pre-chorus/Chorus/Post-chorus is okay, but could've been SO much better.
Thank God the "whole album" isn't produced by DJWANNABESHADOW.
There is so much going on in Applause, but the only thing I can readily decipher is the I live for the applause, applause, applause hook.

- I love the Xtina-esque whoo! ad-lib toward the end. Joanne knows she wasnt right for that.
-The awful David Bowie accent in the verses is .
-The chorus is pop ecstacy. The standout of the song.
-The beginning of the song reminds me of Smack You by Kimberly Cole.
