We'll of course compare her to other women in the twilight of their career like Mariah, Madonna, Jennifer. No one expects her to compete with the top girls in the game, that would be really dumb. She's always been eclipsed by other girls and now with her middle-aged face it's clear that she will never be a contender.
I just heard Applause on KIIS and the verses reminded me of the time I had a couple of really bad oyster shooters and did not stop throwing up for literally an hour straight.
I actually began to like it after a couple listens, the chorus was kind of bearable.
But now after a few hours the novelty has worn off and the song is pretty crappy.
Sounds like a BTW leftover. (which it kind of is seeing that it was produced 3 years go)
Melodically, "Applause" is decent. I think it's Gaga's voice (accents/screaming/tone) that makes it less accessible. If Esther Dean sang the chorus, it would be a big hit for Rihanna.
She's not planning to air it on tv or anything right?
