I think she needs hype only because she is promoting a vegas residency. She needs to either do a concert performance or AMAs performance and then release ticket sales. Fairweather People need to see at least one good performance to know that she still has it.
I kind of wish that she would release tickets the day after AMAs.
First single will happen in September and slay October as well and then perform a 1 minute snippet of her 2nd game changing ballad and then the first single and release the tickets so that there is 1 and 1/2 more songs to entice people to buy.

Britneys best first single for me will always be Slave But there isn't a weak link, even on FF HIAM is one of her best songs, but it's my least favorite. MATM for the video and performances is held high for me

Roar's chorus is really good, somw of the verses are cheesy though. Overall its a decent pop track, I like.

I only listen to How I Roll, Trip To your heart & hold it against me.

HIAM is an incredible song and the perfect 1st single. It's not the song's fault Britney went fishing for a month after it was released and those 148548754 teasers ruined the video's anticipation.

As for Katy and Gaga... Roar is a cool song, but as expected, there is zero innovation there. Applause sounds just plain laughable.

That said, I believe Roar is gonna be a #1 hit for Katy, but Britney has everything lined up to OWN both her and Gaga if she decides she wants to.

And even so, if the song isn't completely different from the snippets, I honestly don't see it having even half of BTW success after the first week.

And about Katy and Gaga, Roar sounds like a Fun left over but will smash and Applause from the snippet I've heard doesn't seem to be anything special but I'll wait to judge completely, although I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she struggled again this era (single wise).

As for Britney's lead single, whatever she releases is pretty much a guaranteed hit at radio but I'm hoping for a perfect blend of pop and urban ala Gimme More.
