The chorus is great. I don't see why everyone's complaining. It doesn't sound like most of the choruses that have been floating around in the past year or two.

It's the production in general. It's just so stale at this point. It'll be a hit, but I don't think it'll be a huge smash a la California Gurls.
PS. does anyone else hear a little bit of We Are Young in there?
"Roar" is typical Katy - a song with ****** lyrics in the verses but has a catchy, undeniable chorus that radio DJs would eat up + notes that are out of her range. I don't see how she flops with this.
