She's suprisingly #11 on iTunes with zero promotion and still 16, I'd say she has a bit of an upper hand on them.

The difference is Marina and Charli haven't managed to get a Top 40 hit. Clearly, the general public thinks differently than you, and are already showing interest in her music and persona so early on with little promotion. Lorde has already proven herself far more popular than other "tumblr stars" you mention.
