Similar to my "Song that killed a career" thread... sometimes a song doesn't kill someone's career, the responsible is the long break that the artist take between their previous album and the new one... do you know some examples?

I know we have the spanish album, but she took a loooong break between her two latest English albums.. and we all know how it ended...

Christina Aguilera: Back to Basics ----> (4 yrs) Bionic
Avril Lavigne: The Best Damn Thing ----> (4 yrs) Goodbye Lullaby
Basically, if you wait longer than 2.5-3 yrs to release an album in the immediate gratification pop world and you aren't a certified ICON/LEGEND, you're kind of screwed for future success.
It's such a shame, all of their albums are really good
