Remember when Ke$ha released teaser videos for Die Young's release? It was hyped up to be a great leap of change for Ke$ha sonically and when it came down to the single's release it turned out to be nothing new for her. Do you think this might happen with Katy? She's been teasing with videos to be headed in a new direction but with a title like Roar it doesn't really seem like it could be all that mature. Who really knows though.

Yes, I think so. I still think it's gonna be good.

I think she will stay the same sonically, but will change lyrically. So a catchy Pop song with a more serious theme, like Judas for example.

I'm not sure. But the thing is, Katy is looking for a hit, so I think she'll HAVE to change her sound, since songs like Die Young or California Gurls won't be going to #1 anymore.

I'm not going to have any preconceived notions before I hear Roar since I don't think that's fair to her (#ARTPOPRealTness). She wouldn't be smart to just release something generic though, because trying to bank on TD will only lead to disappointment. You can't recreate the formula and success of that album like that. You can recreate the success by taking fans by pleasant surprise.

I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she's bringing something different to the table this time

Probably. But Die Young was not what she was hyping up to be a huge change sonically for her, those songs were all scrapped by Dr. Luke because he wouldn't make any money off them as he wasn't credited nor did he participate in the production.

The way the girl who wrote it (the Bonnie McKee person) described it makes it sound like POM 2.0

die young had like 1 teaser video and it was filmed with a hand-cam. katy's teasers have production value.

I'm optimistic. I don't think she will try to recreate TD, I think that's part of the reason why she's having so much fun distancing herself from her TD image.

Die Young was hyped up but everyone, we got like 30 different description of how the song was supposed to sound, and it just ended up being a regular Pop song.

So possibly yeah, she might just do something she always does.

Die Young peaked at #2 and it was only blocked by Diamonds even then it had great longevity and did really well on radio until radio started blacklisting it because the events that happened with Sandy Hook.

I don't get why people forget this was a very successful song.

I tend to enjoy her singles, so I have hope for Roar. If she fails to deliver, though...

I swear this is Dr. Luke's second chance to make his 'Warrior' era successful. 'Prism' and its font is exactly like Ke$ha was written during the beginning of the Warrior era and the Illuminati triangle Seriously though, Dr. Luke sucks. The end.

My prediction is that Roar will sound similar to Teenage Dream just to secure some safety into launching the next era but the following singles will be more of a risk and different sound for her.
